bytemine appliance 6a16e

Posted by Felix Kronlage, Holger Rasch on Wednesday, August 15, 2012

bytemine appliance 6a16e a.k.a. Axiomtek NA-320FL The successor of the popular bytemine appliance 6a16 has arrived. We've been looking for quiet a while to find state of the art hardware that will continue the line of simple, low-power and flexible network appliances that can be deployed without any moving parts in it.

With the Axiomtek NA-320FL we've found exactly what we've been looking for. For the last couple of months we ran many tests on it and shipped it to a few selected customers, who've been previously very happy with the 6a16. Turned out: They really like this piece of hardware as well.

The 6a16e is based on the Atom D510 which is a dual-core cpu running at 1.66 Ghz. Two gigabytes of main memory and of course six Intel gigabit interfaces. As mass storage interface it offers CompactFlash (which we still prefer over the mSATA modules from the newer Soekris models) and SATA. Additionally, it has a MiniPCI Express slot. Like with all network hardware we sell, a proper serial console is present!

You can order it over at our online shop. If you're interested in a testing sample let us know!

We will also have some units with us at FrOSCon this upcoming weekend!
