Soekris net6501 in sight!

Posted by Daniel Rauer on Friday, January 28, 2011

Good news for everyone loving the products of Soekris Engineering: With the net6501 there finally seems a Soekris with GigE to appear on the horizon! As Soren Kristensen, founder, CEO and Chief Engineer of Soekris, today wrote on the Soekris mailing list:

Ok, now things are finally moving forward quickly, I’m now deep into
the PCB layout, and if we don’t run into too many problems getting
parts, we should have prototypes in early March.

Some highlights of the system:

  • up to 1.6 GHz Intel Atom E6xx series processor

  • four 10/100/1000 MBit ethernet ports

  • up to 2 GByte DDR2-SDRAM

  • microSDHC or mini-SATA module for program and data storage

  • 2* SATA, USB, 2* serial, 2* Mini-PCI-express with mSATA support, 16bit GPIO

  • NiMH battery backup connector with charge and monitoring

As soon as we have our hands on the first boards we will post about it here. Be assured, if you track our blog, you won’t miss us shipping the net6501. :)
Of course you will be able to order Soekris net6501 through the bytemine online shop.
